June 4, 2015 — Bayer contacted our Purchasing department this week to communicate that they are experiencing a shortage of specific assays of Kogenate. Bayer reports having very limited stock of 2000(IU) and 3000(IU) vials at the present time. They project the shortage will persist for several weeks.
In their conservation effort, Bayer is now restricting delivery of 2000(IU) and 3000(IU) vials and is allowing limited numbers of these vial sizes per account, per week. This, in turn, may mean that some patient orders may need to be cut down and split into multiple orders this month.
We are confident that our Customer Care Coordinators will be able to gracefully navigate this shortage to fill patient orders as needed, but we wanted to communicate the issue to you in a timely manner.
